Palma
di Montechiaro, the village founded in the XVII century by Giulio
Tomasi, the "Saint Duke", is the place of origin of the
family's feudal title. With its strict ducal palace, later transformed
into a monastery, and the Cathedral with its imposing staircase,
it is a visible expression of the strict mysticism of the Tomasi
forefathers.
Bu t Palma di Montechiaro represents, above all, feudal Sicily,
with its large rural dominions, with its sunny and harsh landscape.
